I hope to get about the same with my '82 Stepside with 304/AX-15/NP208 and 3.73 gears with 33" tires. I may have to change that ratio though. I only got 17 mpg with the same motor with switchpitch TH400/QT with 17% OD /3.73 gears and 33" tires before. It's the O/D that is throwing a question in about the final ratio.

I'm getting 20 mpg with the white 70 Javelin, 304 ci stock engine,
motorcraft 2 barrel carb (poorly tuned right now) T-5 manual 2.87 axle,
245-45-17 tires in back. If I could just figure out that EFI stuff, I'm sure
another five mpg would be easy to achieve.
Or if I would spend some time with that 2bbl carb..............
