Yeah I figured that may help stretch it. But my b bigger issue is to much material. I am almost ready to install kick plates and front seats. I amend my original bitch to state that with due care and diligence it can be tweaked enough to look presentable. Still beats a 40 year old worn/ torn rubber mat. 
   Can't wait for a cruise to see how much noise difference there is!

I didn't clarify before, but they were heating the backside of the carpet to reshape.
