didja know we have the fewest political parties of any major
democracy?  they have a nice little club going.

yeah dammit, machiavelli got it exactly right.  i've begun to think
that politics as it is practiced is a form of sociopathic behavior,
and i would love to find a way to psych-test folks for political
fitness that can't be gerrymandered, but i'm not holding my breath.
