Re: [AMC-list] Hornet suspension rebuild questions

There was a thread about the strut bushing eliminator kits on one of the amc forums. I think it was Frans forum at www.amccars.com. The few guys there liked what they had got. Some. Built their own.
I'm undecided as to what they would really do. Be nice to hear real world results as far as what they do. Do the change any characteristics by reducing binding? Do the transmit extra vibration? How long would the hardware last on the street? Tons of questions.

For ball joints. I would go with the oldest stock I could find. Tom had poor results from "new" stuff. I don't replace parts like that if they are good anymore.

I'm going to do a front suspension rebuild on my 71 Hornet. Does anyone make a greaseable ball joints for these cars? Are old stock MOOG parts best or does someone else make joints that are just as good? Also, a while back someone was selling a strut bar replacement kit that eliminates the strut rod bushings in the back. Now there are none up on ebay. Does anyone have any feedback on this setup?
