I was thinking, I do that, got to stop...
Anyway, I was thinking that you could move the guts from the Ford box to a GM manual box then slap it on the AMC adapter late and WALA! instant quick ratio box...

The other issue is, lots of them I suspet! Is that will the car reverse steer since the Fraud box was mounted BEHIND the knuckle!

As the fun fact.
I had a hand in converting TWO Fords from slave P/S to quick steer manuals! 
Piece of cake, well in 79 it was!
Go rob the manual draglink, idler, pitman arm from a junk six cylinder car.
Pull the like stuff and the slave from the P/S car, Install the manual linkage and arms and GO!

I drove both cars after completion, one a big block FE Cougar with stock rimblow wheel steered nice.
The Mustang was my brothers, it had a small aftermarket wheel and was a PIG to park, but fun on the road!

the ford boxes are manual - remember, they used non-integral slave
cylinder ps long after the saginaw ps came out.
