I always was led to believe the original SC was for Southern 
California (Southern California Rambler), and the later SC just 
suckling on the SCRambler legacy......Russ

There is one other possibility for the SC and it's a pretty good one. 
As about that time some one came up with the general label of "Super 
Cars", or Super Car - Rambler. Got to love the irony of that one! LRDaum
