I know you asked jim but I wanted to mention the 219 heads made in 70 and 71 were 50.6 CC combustion chambers. in 72 they went to a 58 cc and then later changed the piston design.

Do you know what the differences are between the 10.2, the 9.5 and the 8.5
are?

I know the early 71 401 had the 219 heads with 58cc combustion chambers,
Did AMC drop the compression to 9.5 by using a bigger combustion chamber
head
in late 71 and then go to different pistons to get the 8.5??
