Jonathan, I rolled my own. There's nothing special about the sending unit itself. It's a pretty standard 78-10 ohm early Ford/Chrysler/AMC sending unit. Go to www.jcw.com and put ZX128525U in the search area. That's the part number needed. The sending unit itself is mounted on an adjustable mount. Cut the wire and remove the unit from the mount -- it's held on by two screws. Pull the original sending unit. Pry the 2-3 tabs up the hold the cover on and gut it. You will be left with the pickup tube with a flat plate on it. Mount the new sending unit on that plate.  I seem to recall that one bolt fit in a slot, the other clamped over the edge of the plate. The wire that goes through the circular tank mount can be removed. It's a small screw through a rubber grommet. You have to get the wire from the new sending unit attached to that bolt. I don't recall how I did it now -- I think I removed the original, crimped a circle terminal of the correct size on the wire, and used a sligh
 tly longer screw through the original grommet. I may have soldered the wire to the original screw or bar that connected to the original screw. Just don't get the grommet hot and melt it! You'll need to shorten and bend the float arm to fit, but that's the easy part! 

The TSM says the sending unit is 9 ohms on the "full" side, but they are "3%" gauges -- meaning within 3% of being accurate. The 1 ohm doesn't make a difference, mine still puts the needle on the full mark. It's been in there since 2003 and is still working fine.

Subject line says it all.  Anyone have any suggestions as to who's
the best bet for finding one?  Harold Wenner hasn't ruled it out,
but is uncertain as to whether/when he might run into one.  Haven't
heard back from Blaser's, and Galvin's says no.  I'd be happy with 
either NOS or a good used part.
