That would make sense but at the time they closed the doors, some insiders said the deal hadn't gone through when it was suppose to and that is why they shut down.  Speculation has been that they are taking inventory so they can close the deal with this company.  If that was the case, from a business standpoint, they would have gotten that word out to their dealers as to not loose too much market share using that network to inform the consumers.

Over the past couple years, there were a few deals in the works from my understanding.  The most current one didn't take place last week when it was suppose to.  Since then, there has been rumors about them taking inventory over the past week so that they can close the deal but nothing from them or their local news that I have seen.  Plus local guys have said there hasn't been any cars in the parking lot.  I wouldn't expect that Crane would not come back under some other ownership at some point but who knows.  If the bank has taken over, they may just sell of the assets.  Hopefully not and new ownership gets things straightened out quickly and starts back up production.  Whether they continue with the same products would be another story.  I don't know what that would mean for all the people they owe money to.  Guess we just wait and see.

I just read an article somewhere that said Crane was being taken over by another company and would offering products again in a few weeks.  Here's a reference.
