[Amc-list] push rod length

Hey guys, I sent my engine out to the machine shop to have it checked and some machine work done to it, I'm putting a 401 in my 69 American? with a? lunati cam, ?lift isn't super radical, but I wanted to know about the push rod length I have a few AMC engine books and one of them sez the factory length for a 72-401? is 7-53/64 and a another one sez 7-51/64 I'm looking for after market rods a little more performance maybe hardend rods ... But I found on several web-sites they offer rods only in a length over 8"... do you think this will matter because I have early style heads with the adjustable rocker arms like a on a chevy ???? Also I wanted to let you guys know I bought a book from Dick Datson, The American motors v-8 performance engine book,? and let me tell ya this book has all kinds of info in it, stories of other people doing exactly what I'm working on and all the unseen problems to expect and all kinds of useful part #'s ,, Anyway I would recommend it for all and it w
 as cheap also,,,,
