When I had my bumpers rechromed a few years ago, I asked how they made sure 
they would fit the car.  I had heard horror stories about rechromed bumpers 
not fitting.  My local plating shop told me that they have basic 
measurements for each vehicle, and they make sure that the bumper matches 
those measurements after straightening.  They also said that they would test 
fit it to the vehicle if I wanted to bring it to their shop.  I didn't do 
the test fit since the car was in a body shop 200 miles away.  (Got a good 
deal from a friend of the family.)
