Re: [Amc-list] It Pays to Shop

I thought I was the only one that has to rebuy stuff I know I have because I can't find it!

That's one reason I am so sorely wanting to sell off the Ambassadors and parts.
Between the pain and the piles of parts I am slowly, or quickly losing my mind!

If I had only been selfish and built the BIG shop I was told to build by my wife ten years ago!
But NOOOOOooo! I had to go and build the smaller shop with the roofed porch over it so my wife got the porch she has always dreamed of!

  Silly me...

Sometimes my projects take so long that I lose parts. I had purchased front wheel cylinders for the 65 Rambler from Rockauto two or three months ago. I could remember taking one of them out of the box and examining it. I'm finally doing the brakes now while waiting for the sheet metal to repair the trunk.

I did the passenger brakes yesterday and I could not find one of the wheel cylinder for the driver's side. I had checked online a few days ago with NAPA and got prices. Checked with the local NAPA store and found that they would have to order the one I needed. Bummer. I was near Kragens today so I thought I would check with them. They would have to order the one that I needed too and they had it priced at $77.00. I told the clerk that was exorbitant because I could get it at NAPA for less than $30 (forgot the actually price quoted at NAPA). The clerk said they would match or beat any valid price and called the NAPA store. NAPA quoted him $12.36 so he honored that price. I wouldn't have bought a wheel cylinder $77 anyway, but I like to think I saved $65 just by complaining. I wish I could get that kind of satisfaction by whining about my taxes or my job.
