Sometimes my projects take so long that I lose parts. I had purchased front wheel cylinders for the 65 Rambler from Rockauto two or three months ago. I could remember taking one of them out of the box and examining it. I'm finally doing the brakes now while waiting for the sheet metal to repair the trunk. I did the passenger brakes yesterday and I could not find one of the wheel cylinder for the driver's side. I had checked online a few days ago with NAPA and got prices. Checked with the local NAPA store and found that they would have to order the one I needed. Bummer. I was near Kragens today so I thought I would check with them. They would have to order the one that I needed too and they had it priced at $77.00. I told the clerk that was exorbitant because I could get it at NAPA for less than $30 (forgot the actually price quoted at NAPA). The clerk said they would match or beat any valid price and called the NAPA store. NAPA quoted him $12.36 so he honored that price. I wouldn't have bought a wheel cylinder $77 anyway, but I like to think I saved $65 just by complaining. I wish I could get that kind of satisfaction by whining about my taxes or my job.
