afaik 232/2V were '64/5-'70 only and a completely different intake and
carb from the 258/2V, and btw 199s were A code also; they ended when
258s began.

and on someone else's comment, the crank and yes rods are different.
when they raised the deck ~1/4" in '71 the 232 essentially got the
199's rods and the new 258 the old 232's.  199 and 232 slugs are
different but to share slugs the 258's stroke is less than 1/2" longer 
than the 232 and it doesn't run at zero deck height like the others.
