I will never buy a foreign car/truck. Like my F-150 JUST fine/also my GT Mustang..and of course all my old AMC's that I have!! Just my opinion,Joe Joe, I copied your statement above, just so people would be more able to follow this post. Unfortunately I believe you have already bought a foreign car. Be it a Ford F-150, a Mustang GT, a Dodge Charger, Pontiac Grand Prix or what ever you want to call an American made car. There are parts and components of every car assembled in this country that are not made here, so therefore they are not "American" cars. Not wholly any way. AMC was doing it way back when as were the other US car makers, parts were made in Canada at least. When the feds give the OK to restrict imported components to American cars, that's when we will be much better off. Keep our cars American. Require car makers world wide who wish to market in the United States that their cars be wholly fabricated in the United States. Not just assembled here. Or at least require that a certain percentage, and more than is currently required, of the car be fabricated here not just assembled. Remember I said fabricated, that means the parts are made here too........... That way maybe we wouldn't look like such isolationists. Simple easy solution to the whole economic mess. Doesn't Mexico do something similar to this now?? How about China?? Brazil?? Venezuela?? I'm sure there are others. The construction industry would boom with all the new factories that would need to be built or converted, re-opened and outfitted, etc. Fabricating plants that currently are in operation would receive so many orders for parts and raw materials that the economy would take off. Unemployed workers could find jobs, if they truly wanted to work. Some of them just want to collect freebies. I would gladly buy a car with a foreign name on it if it were mostly constructed here. Especially since that's exactly what a Ford is...........mostly constructed here.................................. Armand AMC content, I'm furious that winter is here, I so want to drive the Javelin everywhere right now as fuel is so affordable. I certainly hope it stays that way, as I may have to also buy another new set of tires after this summer if it does. Take care all..................... _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
