Here's the text of what I sent him...

"There seem to be some errors in your information about AMC Gremlins.

Production did not end in 1980. The last Gremlins were built in 1978 and were
redesigned as the AMC Spirit. Spirits were built until 1983. 

More than 671,000 Gremlins were built plus another 192,000 Spirits so I doubt
they can be called a failure. 

I bought one new in 1974 and still drive it on occasion. I drove my 1978 Gremlin
just last night - still runs great."
