I doubt Teague would have, beside,s this was a car design trade journal. He cited an anonymous study (the people didn't know it was for AMC) in Atlanta that brought random people in and had them take a survey on some design ideas around 70 or so, just a few years before the Pacer came out. Seems everyone was more comfortable with everything BUT front wheel drive! There was a rear engine, mid engine, conventional rear drive, and front wheel drive package idea. Seems as long as it was rear wheel drive it was more acceptable to the general public, which isn't a strange reaction for the early 70s. ---------- Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2008 09:23:23 -0800 From: Jim Blair <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> Don't suppose he'd "fib" to the magazine to keep up consumer confidence? ;^) -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
