The '39 Ford was juice brakes... At least the one we had back on the 
farm did. It was a 1939 2 door sedan.  Wouldn't quit running. On 40 
models and later I think all cars had hydraulic brakes.  At least I do 
not recall seeing any that did not. Even Jeeps.

My 40 Ford and 40 Merc had juice brakes and I think the 39's also had 
them. I know 38 Fords were mechanical brakes.
