he may have said '42, but that was a war-production-controlled year
and not likely.  i always heard that '48 was the first year for juice
brakes and the last for the old chassis.

there's a fellow in hemmings that has a high compression [8:1] ricardo
turbulent chamber iron head for the a that he says is good for 80hp
with little else.  probably best used on a 'model c' [5-main pressure
lube] block.

i'll never get to any of the cool car ideas i've had - heck, i'm
trimming my 'fleet' even further now!  anyone want my '68 american?
