[Amc-list] knobs, knobbies, knobbers

OK,

I was looking at the little heater and A/C control module that locates on
the left side of the steering column
at the bottom of the dash on Javelins. I noticed there are little metal
pieces under the knobs on the control levers.
How do those little knobs come off the levers?? Without destroying them of
course.
