Yup, and I won! Two stoplight-to-fast-as-we-dared on LA streets at 2am. 
OK, it was really stupid? But I don't regret it (since we did not get 
caught). 60MPH on Broadway, and drunk-hour no less. Not smart. No, we 
had not been drinking, just innate bad behavior.

I wound it up as tight as I dared (3600 rpm) before the loooong pause 
between gears (the T-96 will not be hurried). ButI pulled ahead of my 
opponent consistently both times.

1973 Volkswagen Beetle. Yup, wooped his butt by two or three car lengths!
