just as an aside, i've long thought ford's approach, with the 3-4
shift arm rejiggered to swap them and recut gears, so that 3rd is 1:1
and 4th is o/d, is a cleaner approach. and side-shifter granada boxes
[late '70s] are a drop-in swap for the non-o/d t150. goodbye to any
column shifters though.

btw, ratios for the granada are:
'77-up 3.29/1.84/1.00/0.80
'79-up v8 [302]	3.07/1.72/1.00/0.70

compare the v8 ratios with a t150 + o/d.
