Frank, Thanks for acknowledging the post. I appreciate your answer. By the way I wasn't trying to flame anyone, I just wanted to get a view point out about ethanol that I've had for some time. Breaking into it using the corn angle was the only way I could think of getting the message across. As you could tell I'm not a big supporter of ethanol, even though it means more money for quite a few area people where I live, it also seems to be taking from the back pockets of others who can less afford the extra costs of food, and everything that will be affected by the higher demand for corn. It seems to be good for the farmers though........ I wonder how many of them actually use E85?? Armand Next post will be AMC related...... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Swygert" <farna@xxxxxxx> To: <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:13 AM Subject: Re: [Amc-list] The Pickens Plan (not) > That was me Armand! I forgot all about the many processed foods, was thinking only what we eat directly. You're 100% correct, we eat a lot of stuff made from field corn that I totally overlooked. I'm not quoting your whole message, but it is an interesting read! > > -------------- > Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2008 20:12:51 -0500 > From: "Armand Eshleman" <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Just want to add my two cents worth to clear the air on this subject....... > > I'm not sure who wrote this statement > > "Ethanol production from corn > > > > " hasn't made food prices go up directly because "sweet corn" is > > > " what humans eat, "field corn" is used for ethanol and livestock > > > " feed." > > > > -- > Frank Swygert > Publisher, "American Motors Cars" > Magazine (AMC) > For all AMC enthusiasts > http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html > (free download available!) > > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 270.6.19/1663 - Release Date: 9/9/08 7:04 PM > > _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
