We camped a LOT when I was a kid. In western Pennsylvania there is a very steep 8% or steeper grade known as Summitt Mountain on rt 40. It is between my parents home and Yough lake. We typically had two vehicles we used to get to camp. One was an Ambassador or Rebel that was relegated the duty of getting our 18' or so camping trailer to yough. The second hauled the 15-16' boat with outboard and whatever other gear we could pike into over that mountain. The second car was always an American and yes, it was moms car with the aircooled borg. I can not remember dad ever rebulding a trans in one of those cars! He taught mom how to tow the boat in the forward gears and it worked. She could not back up more than a couple of feet though! I would guess we are talking 2,000+ lbs on the boats and gear. Plus a few of those cars were Stationwagons, full of kids and dogs too. As Tom can attest the Borg will hold up if treated kindly. Abuse it and it will die a violent death, Been there, done that... -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrac II " I realize that death is inevitable.
