A small nick that does not protude will do next to nothing to compression or cause oil use above normal.
  The rings pass over it so quickly very little pressure bleeds out.
If it is a gouge or sctratch that is deeper and runs vertically, then it is time for a rebuild.
   Your overbore size is limited only by your imagination and the size pistons you can find!
Those old beasites got thick walls!  .080" is not sweat at all, if you can find pistons!
Most all that seems to be left run in the .060" range.
  Joe Fulton just did some time looking for .080" and went to another block to allow him to use the .060" pistons he had.
