I've shipped parts to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. None of the
packages was very large, and no item was very costly. I've had no problems
shipping to these other countries so far, but there's always a first, and
unfortunately this day and age one bad experience is enough to convince
anyone that there's no future in going that route again because of all the
potential pitfalls. I've even listed "no bids or shipping from foreign
countries. What that usually does is force the foreigner to contact me
directly and ask for a variance on my requirements. It makes it more legit
to me that the person really won't screw up my auction and cost me
additional fees with ebay for a relisting, and removes the undesirables. One
also has to remember that the United States is the largest individual
consumer country that is directly connected to ebay buyers and sellers, and
therefore creates a very large market for buying and selling with out
forcing us to go to other countries. Unfortunately Canadians don' have that
advantage.
We're the biggest, we get to make the rules to market our stuff.
Wait till you get burned real good on a deal because of some dolt who makes
you relist because they are dead beat buyers.
So far that hasn't happened to me but I'm trying my darndest to prevent it
too!
