[Amc-list] 6=8 Clifford Headers for 199

I recently emailed Clifford Performance regarding their 6=8 Headers for AMC Passenger Cars 1972-81 Model #57-2300. I asked them if it would work on my '69 Rambler with a 199 cid. engine. They advised that it would NOT, reason being that the starter is on the driver side on pre-72 cars. Does anyone know of a dual exhaust header that will work on my engine? Or, would getting one of the "mini" starters allow the Clifford product to fit?
