Re: [Amc-list] Howell TBI on 232ci '63 Classic...

You know, the injectors could just be gummed up and not working right. If you can see down in there is is a very fine mist or a definite spray? If a spray the injectors are dirty. Easy enough to pull and clean the outside, but they need to be electrically opened and a pressurized cleaner run through them for the inside. Sometimes just cleaning the tips with a good solvent is enough though.

I'm regretting putting the Holley 4V carb on my truck. Might pull the EFI stuff I have out this winter and see if I've got everything to put it on. Right now the carb has started loading up and running rich. The jet size is a 51, and Clifford recommends running 48s with the 4.0L head on a 258 with the Holley 390 carb. Just ordered 48 and 47 jets, but I suspect a sticking float or something. Haven't had any trouble out of the EFI, this carb wants attention every now and then! Probably the last carb I run on a true DD.

When I plug/unplug the 2nd injector, you can head it close the loop, or
try to; the pulsewidth changes, idle speed changes (when you UNplug it
speeds up, injectors pulse "less").

But I can stick my pinkie finger in there, there's alot of gas. It's
wet. Seems like way too much.

sorted out!

Yeah, it seems to all behave right, just too rich. I hope it works out!
