Re: [Amc-list] Charity Projects In General

No, and that might would have worked, but the whole point was for the AMC community to pull together and overhaul the car. Well, it did work like that for a while, but as the project dragged on some got disenchanted, some ticked off, and a few of us just soldiered on. All big, lengthy projects have the same problems! As long as there are enough "hanging in there" they get finished. I've even considered starting another charity project after this one. Yeah, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment (I did say "considering" though!).

I think it would be an evil joke for the car to "disappear" on the way to Benvie's but be at the Foose shop getting finished. If I wasn't in on it I'd be a lot more ticked off than anything even if the car was completed though, and I bet Tom feels the same way. We've just got too much time and (im)patience tied up in it. Would be a relief to get it finished in a way, but then it could be seen as a failure for the AMC community to pull something like this off. We're a small community and take a lot of guff from the "other guys" as it is. I think we'd be better of to complete this one on our own even if it takes a bit longer than we'd like.

Frank,
Did anyone ever consider asking Chip Foose and the folks at Overhaulin' to get involved?
This looks like something they may be interested in doing as long as they could make someone fall for thinking it was stolen at some point.
