i was looking through my '05 ford motorsport catalog - fox-body
mustang drums seem to be the same 9" as the ranger.

" 87-88 Turbo T-Bird r discs work well ( basis for the ssbc kits!)
" 8.8 has a "C" clip set-up, the discs will retain a broken axle better than
" drums.

besides both 28 and 31 spline torsens [$500], also in the catalog
were several mustang disk kits, looking like bolt-ons for 7.5" and
small-flange 8.8" axles.  there was one kit that only fitted truck
8.8" and 9", with 2" x 3.56" flange pattern.

diffs are m-4204-*; disk kits are m-2300-*.  i don't have the online
catalog url handy.
