Re: [Amc-list] Nash Rambler for sale

That price sounds high for a surface rusty car in CA
which is had the floors patched already. But it is an
asking price and maybe one could get it much cheaper,
especially after it sits without being sold for a
couple of months. Covered outdoor storage often does
more harm than good.

Personally, I'm have become enough of a "rust snob" to
not ever buy a car with patched sheet metal. I have
been fortunate that all of my project cars (except for
my Pacer, darn it) to not need any significant rust
repair. I had to weld up some little holes in the
rear window channel on my 73 Javelin. The Pacer
needed rear quarter patches (still not finished) and
some rear valance area patches.

The Spirit GT I dragged home last weekend was sunbaked
with a capital S but so far there are no signs of any
rust. The paint is completely shot and it would make
a great sleeper if I got it roadworthy looking like it
does but with a healthy drivetrain.
