Re: [Amc-list] blasting media??

Eastwood has introduced a Soda blaster that looks interesting.
Supposed to be way good for stripping paint without damaging metals.
They also carry a soda medium that has 20% of a silica or other sand in it to cut rust.
You have to be very careful using sand or other harsh abrasives on sheetmetal.
It will warp the crap out of it...
I have a small sand blaster that does not function very well I am thinking of converting it to the soda setup with a conversion kit Eastwood also sells and seeing what happens.
The soda is supposed to be completely safe around chrome rubber etc.
Not if it has any other abrasives mixed in though!

Eastwood is not the cheapest place to get stuff, but they have it all.

This is not an endorsement of the Eastwood product as I have not tried it nor do I know anyone who has!!!

Silica sand is not a big danger if you use a good respirator. You want to be careful of breathing it's dust or letting the dogs and cats hangout!
