In that case a simple slice out of the middle would do it.
Need to refigure the radio, ashtray if your a smoker.
The only other issue would be the defroster ducts would need split as IIRC they are one piece.
I know they are one piece, by the way I have good one if anyone needs one, in the Hornet.
I can't be sbsolutely sure, but believe the American is too.
If you realy wanted an old timey look you could go to a 63-64 Classic dash ince you are cutting anyway.
