A: Do you have one for the 327 as well? I have the TH400 stuff as backup, but a few people wanted to put a 327 into later model FSJs (I even saved all the mount brackets)

Unfortunately, the trans you are not a fan of is the one that came in the 71 Matador.  There biggest down fall is there aren't parts readily available to build them strong enough to last behind a modified engine.
 
I have an adapter set up that converts the rear hub of the trans to a Torque Flight hub so you can put a 727 in your 71 if you or anyone else is looking to do that.  It requires machining the back of the crank so that this adapter can be pressed in.  No other spacers or mods needed.  Just bolt on a Torque Flight flex plate then same as you would a 72 and up.
