All 71 and earlier AMCs have the BW auto trans. 72 and later use a Chrysler Torque-Flite. The TF case is AMC specific, but all internals are generic Chrysler, even the output shaft splines (Chrysler driveshaft yokes fit).

I am not a big fan of the BW trans.  Looking at a 71 Matador360/auto... what kind if trans does it have?  

Is it the 3 hole balancer of 4 hole?
