Last time I bougt LPG (2 weeks ago) at a Mutual Propane (BIG high-volume dealer) it was nearly $3/gal. Still better than gasoline. On road trips, on which I've easily done 100K miles on LP only, through 40+ states, the price varies 3:1. Mom'n'pop stores are extremely expensive (close to $4/gal) because they buy small quans as a convenience for BBQers from end sellers, no blaming them; the big tank farms with railroad sidings (like Mutual) the cheapest. Plus, it varies with season -- more in summer. Then there are sellers that will not fill vehicles, period. (They are supposed to be state-licensed to charge Road Tax, luckily few even know about that, but those that do, don't mess with the state -- big fine$$!) Per-gallon cost isn't the reason to switch to LP. It's liquified PETROLEUM... it's price is tied to oil (it IS oil) and you use 15% more per mile. The reason to switch to LP is engine longevity, cleanliness, fun, etc. If you wanna save $$$ drive a rambler six! There's no magic bullet. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
