Bit late on this thread, but FWIIW the "Fuller" brand wrenches you mentioned as you choice used to be good tools!
my dad has or had some of their stuff as do I from my Father-in-Law who passed before I met my wife.
  The stuff seems to be good, erring just a wee bit on the "soft" side.
IIRC  the tools fail by spreading or flaring, not by shattering, so they should do fairly well for limited use in your big nut retorques and not shatter without warning.
  Well, if the new stuff still acts like the old does anyway :]
