[Amc-list] 195.6 swap to 232...What's needed?

Greetings Gang,
Question: in order to plant a 1967 232 into a 1962 American where a 195.6
had been born, what is involved in this swap?
Original Tranny is a 3OnTheTree (NO O/D)in the '62, the '67 engine was born
mated to 'unknown'. If automatic, will the crankshaft adaptor necessary in
the 'early days' (the late 50's and early 60's) be required as well, or did
that need change by '67?)
I know the front mounts are far and away different. I am quite suspicious
that this isn't a drop-in deal. The engine's external dims are different
(later engines are longer, are they not?). Without cutting all kinds of
crap, is there an 'easy' install available for this??
I have a 258 with a 4 or 5 speed 'behind' it from an 81 Spirit which was a
great runner...is that a possible 'more or less' drop-in?
Let me know, folks, It's springtime and I'm (almost) ready to start the "In
Spring a Young Man's Fancy turns to.."..ummm, well, CARS, of course! (Of
course, I'm not THAT young (or at very least, as young as I used to be..))
Jj
