" I am confused about the motor oil information. When I read about the
" high ZDDP oils, they are either for diesel engines or they say to
" change at 500 miles, but the other forums I have read say leave it in
" for 3000 to 10000 miles!!
the 500 milers are probably break-in oils. it's normal to change oil
at that point on a fresh [re]build.
" I have a OHV 196, so, what is best? I just changed oil also. Is
" there an additive that I can put in so that I don't waste this fresh
" oil?
gm eos is probably the easiest solution, but you might only find it at
the larger gm parts depts. btw it's been around for a while, but now
it's also getting an acdelco part number. stp used to have a red
bottle 4-cyl additive that was mostly zddp, but it's been taken off
the market.
