The car was a no-sale on e-bay a year or so ago, I forget how much he was asking for it though. With the Ford 302 it WAS a Torino. If it had the OHC six still in it (especially if it was the three sidedraft version) the car would be of much more interest. You don't mess with a collectible/rare car like that! It's still of interest, but not as much. Wonder if he'd take $2500 for it... ;> 

Maybe the OHC six was trashed, threw a rod or something? Then changing the engine would make some sense -- an AMC six might have been a "better" choice, but it still wouldn't be much of a Torino without the original engine. A Kasier version could have been located with a little effort, and is the same as the early Torino engine. It was 72 or 74 that IKA redesigned the block for seven mains.
