Oh YEAH! How could I forget this?!

Before you do anything drastic, leave it all together, check
head torque, and ADJUST THE VALVES. See if that cylninder shuts
up. If it does, and compression is OK, it's likely fine.


(Nothing to do with this directly, but when I pulled the head
on that junkyard 195.6OHV this past weekend, the head bolts
were all over the place -- some tight, some very loose. It's
like they weren't torqued, just casually tightened. Go figure.)
