Re: [Amc-list] Part numbers again - rotor, condensor, points

The gear is cut reverse, but the dist rotation is the same way. I did the HEI swap in several 6 cyl Jeeps (wish I could afford to do my Spirit, but it's getting CD ignition with the EFI anyways) Speaking of the Spirit, I bought an HO EFI harness along with all the accessories (manifold, computer, dist, etc) that I was going to put in, but I bought it before I found an AW4 auto 2WD trans (It's the setup for a std trans, which should work well with a 3 speed non-computerized auto trans, but won't control the AW4. I was going to put the 2wd BA 10/5 I haven't been able to kill in my '87 MJ into it, but then my wife couldn't drive it and she LOVES the car!)
You need the dist drive gear for a Delco points dist or the BID (Presto-no-lite) ignition dist. The Motorcraft one won't fit right and often destroys the cam and/or the dist. I was surprised to find a pivot joint under the dist gear in the last GM dist I used.

Hmm... thenit would make for a bad swap, if the HEI dist uses
the spiral groove in the shaft to draw oil up it.
