Hi Brien, I'm not turbocharging the 304 stroker anymore. Just setting it for street/trail use in the Jeep, naturally aspirated. I just didn't want to mess with the turbos on the Jeep. The poll on Bulltear.com fits with what was discussed years ago in Dick Datson's AMC/Stude turbo publications. I haven't talked to him in years, but last I new, he was moderating the below said 'blowthru' yahoo group. I spoke with Mike Gardner, here in the Great Lakes AMC club, the other day and he now has a twin turbo 304 residing in his formerly twin-turboed 390 AMX. He basically built it to stock specs and limits boost to 10 lbs. He absolutely loves the 304 turbo set up for the street ... so much that he has contemplated not going back to the 390 (needs some rebuilding done). Mike's setup is DRAW THRU. P.S. Please resend me your address so that I can mail you a CD of my old AMC & Stude websites. I have the CD burnt. Greg :) <>< Brien Tourville <hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Good Morning Mr. Phelps,..err Greg, The builders polled on Bulltear.com on 304 build ups all agreed that if they went for a Turbo engine - they'd use the 304 as cylinder wall thickness would be their main concern with AMC / Turbo. Outside of keeping the bore sizing as close to stock as possible, I'd substitute a quality One Piece Cast Iron Exhaust Valve - presuming you don't want to spend on a set of Iconel. www.Carburetedblowers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.jyturbo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I'm presuming this is a 'Blow Thru' carb set up - not a 'Draw Thru' ? ..... --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
