On the drum rebuild issue. Be sure to grease the areas on the backing plate where the shoes ride. The TSM will show them to you but they are basically the raised spots on the plate. Once the shoes are installed you can see where the shoes will rub. When I put the big Ambo drums on my American (still happily running them too, thank you) I took the plates down to the brake shop and had them fill in the worn areas with weld, then grind smooth. I had the shoes relined with Kevlar material and the drums drilled for venting. We got into a big ol piss match on drums once but I am happily motoring with them (60 MPH to 0 in about 130 ft with my American, real world stopping times y'know). Take your time in rebuilding them, keep things clean and adjust correctly. New springs and holddowns too. And flush your brake fluid every other year....Russ ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing.
