Re: [Amc-list] T35 Borg Warner Still needed (cont'd)

Classic symptoms of the "kick-down" (THROTTLE VALVE!!) cable not
connected or not adjusted correctly. The able should work easily holding
the end between two fingers. It pushes IN as the accelerator pedal is
pushed DOWN. Turn the clevis on the end so it's a "lose pin fit" with
the throttle linkage in the idle position, then lengthen the cable two
full turns. You can go a third full turn for a little harder shifting,
but that's about it.

If he hasn't tried driving it much he should be okay, otherwise the
bands slip enough they burn up the drums.

Ok, to continue the T-35 thread, my friend says his
transmission has recently been rebuilt with an
overhaul kit and standard hard parts. The
transmission shifts through the gears when cold but
after it warms up it won't make the 2/3 upshift and he
can only get a max speed of about 45 mph out of the
car (65 Classic).

Frank? Does anyone have suggestions as to what may be
wrong?
