Re: [Amc-list] V8 Cylinder Head Questions - 2nd Follow up ( read this one )

Hey Spro,
I'm not necessarily looking to increase compression .. just didn't want to install my ported 304 heads and have the 360's compression drop from 8.25:1 to like 7.5:1. I was considering the 52-cc 304 heads as another option to 51-cc 360 heads, as the 360/390/401 high-comp heads are pricey.

I'll email you offlist with Rick's information. thanks.

  Greg-

If you want the additional compression for the 360, I think I would pick up a set of 291's that are the 52cc chamber size and already have the appropriate valve size for the 360 instead of trying to make 304 heads work with additional mods. I have a set I bought off the list some time ago (from Joe I think?), but its my only set at the moment. I do have a couple people over on my side of the Detroit Metro area I can ask, though. If I can find a set of the 291's for you, I would be interested in trading for a set of the 52cc 304 heads.

I'd also be interested in talking to Rick if you want to email me offlist or send me a PM on GL. I have a 1970 390 that has had some crank repair done and is ready to go back together. I'd rather have someone experienced handle it due to the nature of what it is. It got beat up the first time due to the PO using the wrong flywheel.
