DO NOT REMOVE THE BIG NUT. The drum is held onto the hub by three litte cap screws which go through the drum into the hub face. Actually it is held on by the wheel and lug nuts as well as an interference fit with the perimeter of the hub. The little screws could actually be missing if a previous mechanic has not bothered to replace them after service. You may need to gentle persuade the drum to come off by using a block of wood and hammer on the edges of the drum after removing the cap screws.
