I'm pretty sure that I've read about C Breedlove promoting the 68 Javelins
by various means including the salt flats. I can't remember what the records
were that he set with the car or if they still stand, but it did happen.
IIRC, some one has possession of this car and is restoring it, wait a
minute...............a quick search comes up with this web link.

161 mph (not a record I'm guessing, probably couldn't back it up due to
weather) is very respectable for a 343 V-8 four speed car in 1968.

It would be great to interview Mr. Breedlove about his involvement with AMC
and get it on record official like.........for the files that J Mahoney
always promoted.....
