Re: [Amc-list] pulley wanted

Eddie, that's just an idler pulley for the belt. Pull it off and you'll find a bearing inside. You can press the bearing out and replace it instead of the whole pulley. XJ Cherokees have a similar idler pulley that may interchange. The one under the AC on a 4.0L won't, it's on a long shaft with two bearings.

My wife's 88 Eagle has a pulley directly in front of the carb on the 258.
It's wobbling, so thought I would ask if anyone here has a good one. They
appear to be same on many six cylinders, especially later model Eagles and
Spirits, possibly Concords. The belt wraps around it, the lower crank
pulley, alt, and ac compressor, so large belt. But the pulley is off by
itself on the upper side of engine on little brace. (about 1:00 o'clock to
the waterpump) Anyone have one for sale let me know!
