Re: [Amc-list] tiny v6

Interesting though, Andrew! This may be the case in something like the Ford Aerostar as well, even though it is rear wheel drive. Is there a rear drive transmission that is available in salvage yards and will fit the 3.3/3.8 Chrysler V-6 though? Didn't early Dakotas use the 3.3L V-6? If not, is the Chrysler 2.2/2.5L four bolt pattern the same?

Back to the 3.3s. That v6 is the same as the ones in the Caravans. I don't know for sure, but I would think that there is less front to back room in the caravan, than there is side to side room in the LH cars. So maybe the brackets etc.... from the vans could help with packaging. Also, the 3.8 is a bored and stroked version of the 3.3. So even more reason to try, if thats your thing.

These v6s had at least 2 configurations of accessories in the vans, so maybe you could pick and choose where you want things.
